On 11 July 2010, Spain claimed a historic first World Cup win in this stadium. Designed to look like an African clay pot, Soccer City with its spectacularly coloured shell pays homage to the civilisations of this continent.

Soccer City is the country's foremost national stadium and the home of South African football. Following a full reconstruction, there is now room for 94,700 fans in this awe-inspiring stadium.
