Botta Management Group (BMG), together with its partners Ruben Reddy Architects from South Africa and SIC Mostovik, is proud to have received the IOC/IAKS Silver Award for Exemplary Sports and Leisure Facilities in relation with the Bolshoy Ice Dome.
The arena hosted the ice-hockey competition for the 2014 Winter Olympic Games in Sochi. BMG CEO and President Charles Botta had brought to the project his company’s vast experience and skill in the design of ice-hockey facilities together with its expertise of delivering large scale sports buildings for major events.
Moreover, the eye-catching 13,000-seater arena received the distinction awarded by the International Paralympic Committee and the IAKS for excellent design for persons with special needs. The prestigious architecture awards, with which the IOC, the IPC and The International Association for Sports and Leisure Facilities (IAKS) honour outstanding sports buildings, were handed over at a gala night on 27 October 2015 in Cologne (Germany).
